‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7, Episode 4 Has That ‘Big Battle With Dragons’

Daenerys is bored of “losing” in “Game of Thrones” Season 7, so we know that it’s time to jump on one of her dragons and touch her enemies who is the boss. Also, she maybe will end up as the Queen of Ashes after all.

The promo video for Season 7, Episode 4, “The Spoils of War,” presented a dragon riding into battle, and HBO.com posted the picture above to tease the August 6 episode. That’s the same photo that Entertainment Weekly previewed a while back, with director Matt Shakman teasing, “The dragons this year are the size of 747s. Dragon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”

Shakman is listed as the director of both Episode 4 and Episode 5. And also he is the only director doing two episodes this year. Entertainment Weekly proved that Episode 4’s dragon battle in a not-much tease during its Spoiler Room roundup:

Give me some Game of Thrones. — Robert

Here’s a tiny tidbit: The big battle with dragons you’ve been waiting for is finally happening.

The first official Season 7 trailer added a shooting of a dragon flying over a field of warriors, looking like Dany’s Dothraki soldiers. Putting two and two together, it looks like Dany’s team may get vengeance on Jaime Lannister for his shock Episode 3 move at Highgarden.

Jaime seems to be taking money to bring back to Queen Cersei to satisfy the Iron Bank of Braavos. But that upset look on the faces of Jaime and Bronn in the Episode 4 photos may be a research of Dany’s own surprise move to hit the Lannister army and take the money? Possibly. That would put Cersei in a sticky position with the Iron Bank. Oh well. Those are “The Spoils of War”!

The Episode 4 promo video also teased the latest Stark meeting, with Arya Stark right outside of Winterfell. Also, as e saw, Theon coming face to face with Jon Snow for the first time since Season 1. And Littlefinger’s catspaw dagger making a re-show, which should be watched warily. So Episode 4 seems like a Big Deal in capital letters, even beyond a dragon battle.

And let’s not assume this dragon battle is the only one we will see in the seven-episode season. It’s just the only one that was promoted ahead of time.
